Lone Dog Winter Count
1821-‘22 Lone Dog (Nakota) pictograph showing a bright meteor falling to earth, educated observers on the upper Missouri noted scientific societies of the occurrence. 1822-1823 shows trading post built by a white man named Big Leggings near the Little Missouri or Bad River. 1823-‘24 Interpreter Clement said U.S. Soldiers first appeared in the region, a unnamed interpreter stated that U.S. forces accompanied by Dakota upon Arikara village. The Flame Winter Count
The Flame was a member of the Two Kettle band depicts a fire ball falling from the sky in the first pictograph 1821-1822 (Red Cloud was born in that year). 1822-1823 he also depicts a Trading Post built near Fort Pierre Little Missouri. Third pictograph illustrates Whites and Dakota fighting the Arikaras 1823-1824.
